As products of the information age, we love gadgets. Having your own camera, drone, or a car is our life-long dream. When it comes to buying these gadgets, we want nothing but the best (within the budget of course!).

The drone is a broad term, used mostly to describe any kind of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). They range from large to small and compact. There are generally four types of drones:

Racing Drones

The drones we’re talking about today are the Racing Drones also known as Quadcopters. They are custom-built for speed and performance to compete in FPV (First Person View) racing events. Not everyone is skilled to fly them, only experienced pilots fly these high-speed quadcopters at speeds up to 120mph. Flying a drone at such high speed is an intense experience.

New to drones racing?

A racing drone can be bought with as little as $200. For a beginner, it’s a good idea to start with RTF (Ready-To-Fly) drones. Custom-building drones are expensive and difficult to build. A newbie will crash the drone several times a day (trust me), it’s be cheaper to start with RTF drone.

Components of RTF (Ready-To-Fly) racing drone:

We’re breaking FPV racing drones into smaller components and listing the top five products for you. A typical racing quadcopter (both RTF and ATF) includes the following components:

Components of ATF (Assemble-To-Fly) racing drone:

Drone pilots are very passionate about their gadgets, take pride in them, and usually prefer to build them from scratch. Not everyone has the knowledge to do so, and the research takes a fair amount of time. You need about a dozen different parts and knowledge about how to select the best product and how to assemble it. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Racing Drone Frames:

Frames are the first component you select for the racing drone. It’s the skeleton of your quadcopter. The frame decides the shape of your quadcopter, the thickness of the top and bottom plates, size of props and where all components will be mounted. The frame for a racing drone must be light-weight, small and with space for all equipment to be mounted.
